A broken faucet in my new bathroom

One day, my flatmate phoned to inform me something was wrong with my new bathroom. I was at work at the time, and we were having an important meeting, but I had to leave it and get to know what was going on. Her voice was really tense, I could tell she was panicking, and I had to calm her down before she was able to tell me the news. Well, she said there was something wrong with the faucet. She had wanted to pour some water into a bowl but then she couldn"t turn the faucet off. The water was still pouring and it was spreading quickly on the tiles, nearly reaching the wood flooring in the hall. I started panicking, too. She asked me where the main valve was so that she could turn the water off. Unfortunately, I couldn"t remember at first, I was so surprised with that question, but then I remembered it was under the toilet, next to the water meter. I was not really sure if she heard me say that because there was a lot of noise and voices in the background. I told my boss I really had to go home at this moment and I would explain everything later. I drove home as soon as possible. When I entered the house, I felt relieved at once. My new bathroom had not sunk under water, as I had imagined. Our neighbours had heard my flatmate screaming and they knocked at the door. Fortunately, they knew how to turn the faucet off.
